HVAC Tip 3

Consider Changing Out Incandescent Light Bulbs For CFL Or LED Lights.  They Stay Significantly Cooler And Don't Give Off The Same Heat As Incandescent Bulbs.  You Can Also Save On Energy With CFL And LED Bulbs.

Incandescent light bulbs have been mostly phased out in America in favor of CFL (Compact Fluorescent Lamp) and LED (Light Emitting Diode) bulbs.  Not all incandescent lights have been banned and you will most likely still have some in your recessed, ceiling and closet fixtures.  Buy why exactly are these bulbs more useful and better than the bulbs of yesteryear?

CFL and LED bulbs are massively more energy efficient than their incandescent counterparts.  In fact, mass adoption of LED bulbs would stop hundreds of millions tons of greenhouse gases from clogging up our atmosphere.  It would also save each nation millions of dollars in energy consumption each year.  These bulbs, especially LED, last longer and do not produce heat build up.  A definite plus when you are attempting to keep your house cool during sweltering seasons.  They are also mercury free which is better for the environment and our personal health.

Another great factor of LED bulbs is that because they require such low power to run, you can use them for a larger scope of projects.  You can install solar panels and power up generators or light remote and off-grid areas for far less money and effort.  They prove to be highly reliable in emergency situations as well.  Overall, changing out your incandescent bulbs for LED bulbs will lower your energy use, your energy cost and help keep the environment and our atmosphere cleaner and of better quality for our overall health.
